Developing a company abroad

Entreprendre

Developing a company is not always easy, especially when you start alone. But I must admit that the risk is worth it!

I had the chance and the opportunity to be interviewed by Halim Derres on the subject of developing a company abroad. My passion for good-quality products, my 8 years experience in purchasing and my conviction of Made in Europe, led me to create the Gift and Craft concept.

In this interview with Halim, I started to present my career as a Buyer’s Assistant and my international beginning, in London, where it all began. This path is essential for me because, in addition to improving my level of English (which was very bad at the time), it signed the beginning of my career in promotional gifts. After 3 years in this field in the country of scones and beers at 16h, I decided to take a different turn to go to the food business in a country where you have 360 days of sun a year and where you eat codfish in different ways: Portugal.

Then, this last experience not being really in line with my expectations, I made the decision to go back in what motivated me the most, namely the purchasing. After visiting factories in the North of the country and working with a lot of craftsmen, I decided in early 2019 to build a custom-made products company made to measure in Portugal.

During this interview, I tell Halim about my first steps as a business leader, but also about my doubts and my hard blows when some future prospects are not receptive to what you propose for example. However, when the first orders fall and the first customer returns are positive, this is the most beautiful reward you can receive.

So let me give you an advice as an entrepreneur: do not hesitate to go ahead, follow your instincts and your dreams!
